Gardens With A Purpose
The Watershed Council teams up with the Natural Landscapes Project and Sustainable Bainbridge to co-sponsor a fall garden tour focused on water-thrifty, pesticide-free gardens that are more than just beauty spots.
In 2007, the "Gardens with a Purpose" tour focused on edible gardens. At one of the stops, Barry Griffin showed off a rainwater harvesting system that includes two large cisterns, a pond and a series of watering troughs where he dips his English watering can when he wants to target water to specific plants.
